Hopefully Some of These Are In My Future

Ten minutes ago I was peeling potatoes in the kitchen. Kylie sounds out a yelp, I look down at my feet to see what the matter is. A dirt clod that fell off a potato and baby thought it would be a tasty treat. Why wait for dinner when you can eat those tasty morsels of yummyness?

Last night I got to spend some fabulous time with my little one. Kylie went to bed earlier than normal and it must have messed with her schedule. She woke up at midnight, tired and cranky as ever but wouldn't go back to bed. Normally I just let her cry for a few minutes and she'll slumber off into an oblivion. But when I did that last night she kept crying and crying. The kind of ear piercing cry that says "HEY! My limb has just been chopped off... hold me please!" I suspect something wasn't making her feel well so I caved in and we snuggled for two hours. I thoroughly enjoyed it! At two am she finally fell asleep.

As I was laying with her on the bed in our spare bedroom I noticed that some water from the sprinklers had frozen onto the bedroom window. Then I realized that because of the storm it might get cold enough to freeze! So at two am I was tromping around in my bushes as to cover my three tomato plants with sheets. I'm going to build some garden boxes in the side yard next year but for now I just stashed several tomato plants among my shrubs in the front yard. I've got one cherry, one roma, and one more that I can't remember the name of. I don't think it ended up freezing last night but at least I was prepared. I had a bad dream last night that some of my tomatoes had frozen regardless, so thankfully they are still alive and kicking. Lets hope some of them actually turn red in the upcoming weeks.
