What have we been up to? Nutt'n

It's been pretty boring around these parts lately. I can't seem to get the motivation to do much or start any new projects. February is such a blah month. I have been trying to get all my files in a place so I can get them printed. I always put it off so now I have 2-3 years worth of pictures to print and assemble in some photo albums.

Kylie and I did run some errands today and we went on a walk to the park just down the road. She had a really good time going down the slides. They are just her size, but I had to lift her to the top of them. She went down all by herself (okay, it's only about 4-5 feet long, but anyway) . She did biff it face first into the bark mulch while tromping around so she has a bump on her forehead. She sure enjoyed herself and she fell asleep right when we got home.

Kylie's been keeping me on my toes lately. She's into EVERYTHING. Like a little sugar-n-spice-whirlwhind of a tornado. Emptying drawers out, getting into cupboards, climbing like a monkey (that's apparently the only thing she learned at stake conference this past weekend... how to climb). I ought to go around and replace some of the child locks that aren't working so well because she can still get into about half of them. I went and bought those magnet locks a few months ago and wasn't happy when I tried to install them. My cupboards are too thick so they don't work! What a waste of $30. But I'm happy to announce that she likes helping with laundry! She loves getting a pile of clothes and dragging them into a basket, or putting them away in a drawer.

Her vocabulary now consists of:

Dadda
Mamma
Uh-oh
Wow
Shu (for shoes)
woof-woof
ka (for kitty)

I love this picture!

my sniffer smells a sniff

Kylie found my bottle of perfume tonight and our house smells lovely. So lovely that I was getting a headache in the main room from the fumes. I was in the other room on the laptop and this was of course on dad's watch :) I forgot I even still had it. This all started because she brought the bottle up to Jared and he put some on her sweater. She's such a girl!

Jared and I were laughing about the perfume because of the memories it has. It's the only bottle of perfume I own (since I'm more of a smelly lotion fan) and Jared bought it for me when we were still in college at USU. He had picked it all out by himself for some occasion. I remember smelling it, and wore it because Jared really liked it and he picked it out. I don't even know the name of it. But to myself I was thinking that it smelled like it came from the bargain bin at wally world. Later he tells me he spent some ridiculous amount on it at store at the mall (gulp). At some point I confessed this to him and he's teased me ever since. I've never been able to throw it out because I know Jared picked it out because he likes it. And that was enough for me. And apparently the little one.

Chicken sandwich anyone?

In January we had a party with some friends at their clubhouse and played a few games with some white elephant gifts. I was the lucky winner of a one-legged chicken. (Not a real chicken so don't go call'n PETA on me... he's made of styrofoam) Well, I guess technically he's a rooster. I put our feathered friend in the basement thinking he could re-surface again for next years party. Of course, Kylie has better plans than that. She likes strolling him around in her stroller. Which if fitting because she pulled out his one and only leg. If you look at Mr. Chicken you can see he has a single tail feather. Baby has pulled out out every one of his tail feathers except this one that must be super-glued on. I keep finding feathers and fluff all over the house!

cool drinks

Kylie has discovered the deliciousness of Capri Sun's. I had a box of them down in the basement from who knows when. While we were down there organizing things a few days ago she brought one over to me with an open mouth and a "eh eh eh eh eh" which means in baby "I want a drink!". She can sniff out food and drinks like a bloodhound :) I took some time with her to teach her how to drink out of a straw. First mistake. Now she's in love with them! Except that she tries to drink them like a bottle and all the liquid spills out drenching herself.

This morning I was getting ready in the bathroom and Kylie disappeared for a few minutes. When she emerged she was holding a Capri Sun that she had dragged out of the basement! I put it on the counter in the bathroom, she gave a little whine and left. A few minutes later she came back holding another one! So like the good mother that I am, munchkin got to drink a Capri Sun for breakfast. I'll have to get a few of those juice box drinks with apple juice in them to see how she does. Healthier and I'm hoping she can't dump them out as easily.

And this little piggie

had one.

I'm so excited that Kylie's hair is long enough on top for a piggie tail! I'm positive that Kylie's the cutest baby EVER! She's turning into such sweet little girl and I'm not ready for her to grow up. Why does it have to go so fast?!?
