Domestic Bliss

I'm not very skilled in the cooking department. My sister Teresa who is much more in tune with her homemaking skills offered to come over to my house and help me bottle some pie filing. So we turned some of these (from her backyard tree)...

into this...

and since one of the bottle lid's "popped" after I rinsed of some of the sticky residue it looks like I'll be making some of this later this week. Or perhaps cobbler?

And on another blissful note... we finally laid sod in the backyard last Thursday. My backyard actually looks like a backyard now! Emily and Steven came over and helped us. I'm so glad to since Steven was our expert sod-layer. Jared's been taking very good care of it making sure it's watered several times a day. I'm very happy that the beloved munchkin will have a fabulous green lawn to play on. The work back there is far from over. On next springs agenda is planting trees & shrubs and installing the pathways. And yup, taking some pictures are on my to-do list.

Congrats on the backyard. :) It's definitely nice to have a place to let kids run wild. And they do.

I'm looking forward to a delicious apple cobbler arriving at my door. ;) jk
