I've had fun this week hanging up items in our spare bedroom and working on a craft project for Kylie's room. I found some $2 twelve inch letters at Hobby Lobby (love that store) that spell out her name. I painted them ivory and decopaged some pink and ivory toile scrapbook paper onto them. Since I don't want to drill holes all over my walls I'm going to be attaching five finials to a 4"x5' routed board that's also painted ivory and distressed slightly. Then each letter will hang from a finial by some ribbon. I hope it turns out. I'm going to hang this on top of her crib. I was planning on doing this before she was born but I didn't know what her name was at the time, and I just didn't have time. I'll be sure to post some pictures when I'm finished with it. How come I'm almost 28 and have never decoupaged before? Man, I've been missing out.
I also discovered a cool little shop yesterday. It's called the Wood Connection and they have a craft store located in Murray at 6680 South 300 West. They sell unfinished wood products, boards and metal plaques to make those cute sign boards that you can find at Quilted Bear. Before I was working full time I seemed to always have a craft project of some sort going on but it's been a long time since I've made anything. It was fun to pick out a new project to work on. I have a hunch I'll be back there to make some Christmas gifts this fall.

When are you gonna post a picture of your handiwork?? And don't feel bad, I'm 28 1/2 and I've never decoupaged.. lol..
Post pictures! Sounds like you had fun! I love doing things like that as well!
I will post pictures I promise. I'm still painting the board the finials go on!
I am going to have to go to Hobby Lobby today to get letters. I needed something to hang in my girls room after I paint it.
I'm excited to see the finished product. I love the Wood Connection! I may have to copy yours for some place in my house.
