Hopefully new and improved!

Well as you know my old laptop bit the dust back around November or December. I really, really wanted to salvage it, but it's days of being reliable were over. We replaced it about six weeks ago which in some ways has been great. I no longer spend f-o-r-e-v-e-r trying to get my programs to run. It took several weeks just to get everything set up in a way I'm comfortable with and to get all my programs loaded onto it. But it's also been very stressful. I have minimal time on the computer these days because of a certain two little people (cough cough) and everything on this new computer is so different. The operating system is new. We upgraded some of the software that was almost a decade old. A free program I use zoombrows.erEX upgraded their whole interface during this time, and my camera software changed. I'm also trying to figure out how to get our photos all organized on the exernal hard drive so that this computer doesn't get bogged down by the overload of pictures that the other one had. It's a mess really.

To add to all of this I had just purchased Lightr.oom just weeks before the old laptop crashed. So I've had a major case of %$#%#$%#$%#$%#$!!!! every time I try to do anything photography related. The simplest of tasks just weigh me down because I'm not sure where things are located or what to do. I also have been trying to get this screen color calibrated and let's just say we aren't there yet. Sigh. I'm just in overload and trying to do the simplest command lately sends me into a tissy because I can't figure out what to do because literally almost everything has changed!

The little man himself is also completely OBSESSED with anything electronic. I know most kids love the gadgets, but he's only 13 months old and he's already having tantrums when we pull the laptop away from him! At grandmas this weekend grandma had to completely barricade her computer! The little stinker starts grabbing the mouse, tapping the keyboard and his favorite is crawling underneath to turn off the surge protector which of course turns the whole computer off. At home we had to resort to putting some cardboard underneath the computer and he now will wedge himself behind it to plan his devious deeds!  It's pretty crazy how determined he is about it! Time will tell of course, but I just have this feeling that Kipton will be very good at computer related anything just like his dad. It wouldn't surprise me a bit!

***Case in Point- I just spent an hour editing pictures that have been waiting for months. And then in one fell swoop accidentally deleted them by hitting the wrong short key. Thank goodness for backups... but I still have to re-do those edits though. Augh!!!!!!

I'm excited about your newlightroom program. I use a website that has some fun actions for that program.
