Hi there,
We've been enjoying the lazy days of January if there is such a thing. Things around here have been pretty routine and lacking in excitement so hence my lack in blogging.
My laptop is still MIA and we are waiting for a cable that's been ordered. Bleh. I'm close to being done with sealing the grout (boy what a time consuming job that was) and have spent some time organizing the basement. My mind is already starting to wander into plans for our backyard this spring. Last year we were able to get a new sprinkling system in, sod, and some topsoil for the flowerbeds. But there is still a lot to do. I'd like to plant trees, some shrubs and put down a few flagstone paths. And build a raised garden bed. And fix the sorry looking shed. And get mulch. And finish that last stair railing on the deck. And get some patio furniture so we can actually enjoy our deck. YEAH RIGHT that's all going to happen :) So for now I'll just dream and we'll have to see what our backbones and pocket book can handle this spring and summer. If I can accomplish half of that list I'll be stoked.
Kylie has been so much fun lately. She's such a happy girl. She's been "helping" me with laundry lately and likes pulling the hand towels out of the kitchen drawer and putting them in piles in the other room. On Sunday Jared was sleeping on the couch and Kylie kept grabbing towels out of the drawer and bringing them over to the couch. Pretty soon Jared had a pretty nice pile of dish rags on his back. Glad they were clean! She's also likes to throw away her own diaper and I usually carry her out to the diaper pail in the garage. She get's so excited! She's been especially fond of Jared lately and will say "dadda dadda" during the day wondering where he is. She must think of him as her big entertainment opportunity because he's always throwing her up into the air, swinging her around, chasing her on all fours, or just being silly with her. She eats it all up of course and think's he's the funnest thing ever.
As I was falling asleep the other day Kylie had decided to get up and so we snuggled with her in our bed. As I was laying there with her head nestled in my neck I could smell the scent of baby shampoo in her hair and it just felt so good. It was a perfect moment and was heaven. I'm so thankful Kylie is with us. Kylie has healed us in many ways and I feel so much more normal with her around.

I love reading your blog. When I start to feel down about adoption, you always have a great story to share about your little girl and it gives me hope.
Hey Tamera, I just wanted to give you the address for that "Go Banana's" store... it's 3245 West 7800 South. Just west of Bangeter and Old Bingham Highway.

I love your snuggling story! Kylie is such a sweetheart and is a perfect addition to your family.
It's so fun to know I have experienced the same thing! It is heaven on earth!
